ART DIRECTION FOR A VIDEO- AND PHOTOSHOOT FOR MY BACHELOR COLLECTION 'CAN WE STILL DREAM?'. QUESTIONING ESCAPISM IN DYSTOPIAN TIMES.
Photoshoot and Videoshoot of my bachelor collection for graduating from a fashion design course at AMD Berlin.
It questions how much dystopia a society needs to take responsible steps for creating a better world and how much escapism one can allow on a private level to live a happy life. This project aims to remind people of finding the right balance between political activism and personal fulfillment.
I directed two photoshoots and one video shoot that highlight the utopian feeling of a fulfilled private life in contrast to the chaotic outside world. Therefore I choose my grandma's house as the first location and a studio set up with vibrant colors as the second set.
The video implements short sequences of current dystopian situations that are contrasted by the comforting feeling of living a happy life. The choice of music, as well the coloring are the main aspects for setting the desired mood.
